Module Overview
GPhotos Unlimited is a Zygisk-based root module designed to bypass Google Photos storage limits. By injecting a modified classes.dex file and hooking into native code, it selectively spoofs Pixel device identifiers solely within the Photos app, granting original-quality backup entitlements.
My Experience
I've been running this on my daily driver to keep my cloud storage clean without paying extra fees. Under the hood, it tricks the app into thinking you're using a legacy Pixel device, which saves original resolution shots directly to your account. Just remember to keep Photos off your Magisk DenyList, or the spoofing scripts will fail on boot.
Core Features
- Targeted Pixel spoofing safely limits the fake device fingerprint strictly to the Photos app environment, leaving your actual system identity untouched.
- Bypass ROM conflicts by editing the included
custom.app_replace_list.txtfile to disable conflicting built-in spoofers from your custom ROM. - Advanced JSON configurations give you raw control over exactly what gets spoofed, including Build fields, system properties, and ROM signatures.
- Check terminal logs right after booting via ADB or SU to verify if the module is correctly feeding the fake fingerprint to Google.
Support & Requirements
- Supported Root: Magisk, KernelSU, KernelSU Next, and APatch.
- Requirements: Zygisk must be active. KernelSU and APatch require the Zygisk Next or ReZygisk module.
- Important Note: If you use KernelSU Next 3.0.0+, you must install a metamount module like
magic_mount_rsfor the spoofing XML files to apply correctly.
How to Install
- Download the latest GPhotos Unlimited
.ziprelease to your internal storage. - Open your root manager, navigate to the modules menu, and flash the file.
- Reboot your phone, then clear your Google Photos app data to trigger the new backup eligibility.
